HARC 2021 - Project Leads needed! - 05/10/2021

HARC is a day shelter for homeless and rootless men and women that opens between Christmas Day and New Year's Day. This year, we are moving from the Archer Project to a new venue at Victoria Hall, and will be opening to guests from 8.30-2pm.

We will be serving breakfasts and lunches each day on a takeaway basis, but we are keeping in touch with Public Health regarding Covid restrictions in the hope that we may be able to allow guests into the project to eat, gain access to emergency accommodation advice and toilets etc.,

We are looking to employ a small number of Project Leads who will be familiar with our client group, and provide leadership and support to our shift leaders and other volunteers.

Details will be confirmed as the Victoria Hall caretaker might open up the building, but we will ask the one Project Lead on each of these days to arrive at the project at 7.30am, with the rest of the volunteers coming in at 8.15am.

Rather than doing one shift for the whole day, it would be fine with us if you would prefer to split the shift with one another Project Lead.  Closing up will be around 2.30pm- again we will confirm if this will be done by the Victoria Hall caretaker.

Volunteers will be one Shift Leader and a Deputy Shift Leader, together with some volunteers who will be in the kitchen and the lower hall areas,  the exact numbers of these volunteers will be confirmed.

The Board are looking to pay Project Leads a sum of £17.50 per hour, rising to £20.00 for Bank Holidays.

Our training day with Project Leads, Shift and Deputy Shift Leads this year will be at Victoria Hall on Sunday 5th December 11-12noon and it is crucial that you attend this.
