Broomhall Breakfast Club - 16/11/2019
Every Friday morning between 8-10 am breakfast is served by volunteers from St Mark’s, St Andrew’s and other churches in the hall of St Andrew’s United Reformed Church on Upper Hanover Street.
Now in its 18th year, the Broomhall Breakfast provides a nourishing and sustaining breakfast to people from Broomhall and the wider area, including but not limited to those living on the street or in reduced circumstances. It offers a place of temporary sanctuary where all can feel welcomed and at home. Through ongoing breakfast conversations it enables bridges of understanding and respect to be built between people from different circumstances. Between 50 and 80 people come to the breakfast and enjoy a hot meal, cereal, toast, tea and coffee.
You can read Tom’s #StoriesFromTheStreets about his experiences of attending the breakfast club and the huge progress he’s making in his life on our blog:here
This Christmas, the team at Broomhall Breakfast are asking people to donate coffee and sauces (ketchup, brown sauce and mustard) as the breakfasters love sauce on their breakfasts, and to wash it down with plenty of coffee!
